Center diff from RCshox: ()
Review of V1 (). The V2 is now out and is adjusrtable. 4 pins is a good starting point for outdoor. 6 for indoor. More pins is like going up in center diff oil. More info here:
Anything else from rcshox (): Their pistons are great, the garodisks work awesome and the ackbar removes some aggressiveness out of the steering.
Exotek chassis ():
Improves cog, weight and flex.
Exotek Slipper ():
Improves acceleration and cornering however at the expense of a on power push.
Chassis brace:
Available from many retailers, fixes chassis flex which improves handling.
Also easy to make your own.
Sway bars:
Most needed upgrade!
Saddle pack mod:
Improves weight balance and handling.
Springs:
We have now started running front springs on the rear shocks. This stiffens up the rear and considerably improves jumping ability.
Blue/Fwhite and Yellow/FBlue
8mm mod:
Just going to say I know nothing about what it does except it made me faster. Read on rctech about it, please don't ask me as I am not qualified to answer.
Uses the B4.1 carbon hub extenders and 12mm ballstuds with 7mm of spacers. Raises the whole rear link 8mm.
Now for mods and how tos:
Differential removal guide:
While you have your diff out now would be a good time to shim it. Just put and extra stock shim under each sun gear (the big ones on the outdrives).
Fit castle 1415:
58t Spur / 22t Pinion: This gearing allows this 1415 motor which is designed for 3S and 4S to be ran on a 2S happily. There are other spurs from a RC10GT that are smaller that can help with gearing on this Motor. (thanks T-bird)
These red areas do not allow the Big motor to sit flat.
I'm sorry for the bad Dremeling. I did this the night I got the Truck so long ago (7 months?) and haven't bought a new chassis to do this grind cleanly.
And there you have it. 1415 Absurd power on 2S I keep up with Losi Mamba Monsters and run ice cold. I 'adore' this motor. It's so hard to even think about getting another sensored upgrade motor.
Fix the wobbly outdrives:
I think I may have found a way to fix wobbly diffs. You cut down where the 10x16x4 bearing rides to about 1.25mm tall, then you can place a 5x10x3 bearing(AE91156) inside the other bearing for the outdrives to ride in.

Now the Achilles heal of the truck:
Some may notice the truck does not preform as well as the competitors on outdoor tracks. While the gap is narrowing due to the V2 diff and other mods it is still there. Some people believe it is because the truck is to light, this is a common misconception. It s because of the weight distribution of the truck. The Losi, Durango and most 1/8 buggys have a very close to 50/50 F/R distribution. the SC10 4x4 has about 42/58 stock and 45/55 with saddles. This gives it a definitive edge on tight high traction indoor tracks for where this truck was designed. However the truck needs more weight up front to tackle the outdoor tracks. the only way this can be accomplished is to add weigths as none of the electronics can be moved. However this leads to a barbell effect as now the truck does not rotate as well. More experimentation is necessary to see if a 50/50 weight distribution is possible while keeping the rotation of the truck.
