Nera apie ka cia ir diskutuoti siaip. Va paskaityk, kazkada jau buvau ikelias si straipsni. Cia sneka ka rinktis geriausiai. f you take off the tires, wheels, and the body, both a 5B and a 5T are identical. All of the parts interchange, same suspension, same engine, etc. The 5T has a 19T intermediate gear in the transmission, and the 5B has a 20T, so there is a gearing difference as well.
The 5B's handle better because they are lighter, significantly (6#'s or so) due to less body, less wheel and tire, and significantly less bumper and body mount.
The 5T's work better in the rough, and jump better because of the heavier weight, larger diameter tires, and the bumpers.
A 5B uses a lower profile and wider rear tire that has a smaller roll-out than a 5T rear tire. The wheel diameters are the same, the widths are different (5B wider) and the tire diameters are different (5T is larger).
I race both, I prefer the buggy on the track, and the truck everywhere else. The buggy is just less of a wrestling match on a track, unless the track is twice the size of Barona, very large (Milestone's Bajacross track or Phatdad's track are good examples).
The 5B and the 5T both have the same top speed, but the 5B gets there quicker, again due to less weight. The gearing change in the truck trans is just to compensate for the larger tire diameter the truck uses.
All of this holds true for the new 5SC as well. Take off the body, wheels and tires, and it is the same vehicle as a 5B or 5T and again all of the parts interchange. The 5SC does have some new upgrades in it which are nicer than the old style 5B and 5T parts. Namely the new rear hubs, larger dog bones, and the front hubs retained by screws instead of c-clips.
I am not trying to come off as a know it all, sorry if it sounds that way? I just own both of the vehicles, and have been racing them for a little over a year now and so thought I would chime in with the scoop...
Buy any one of the 3 (5B, 5T, or 5SC) and you'll really like it! I love mine, and personally I would recommend the new 5SC.
